The Gunners boss has become famous for brining in young players and turning them into world class players and he has spoken of his admiration for Freeman. The Gillingham striker made history and became the youngest player to feature in the FA Cup when he played in the first round against Barnet.
It seems as if Arsenal will try and offer Gillingham some money in order to seal a potential deal for the young starlet. Wenger has recently come under fire for a lack of home grown talent in his Arsenal squad and it seems as if the Frenchman is finally changing his ways as he looks to bring in young English players.
“I met the boy, I like him, his personality, he looks alert,” Wenger said. “He is a striker and at 15 years of age to play for the first team sometimes is something special.”
Wenger also warned that he will be moving quickly to try and ensure he lands his man before any other clubs come along to try and steal him. “When a good player comes out you know you are not on your own, so even if ideally you would wait one or two more years, you cannot any more.”
