Official: Maniche To Undergo Inter Medical On Monday

It is no secret that Inter are in the market for a midfielder following a spate of injuries, and it seems only a matter of hours until they complete the signature of Atletico Mardid star Maniche.

“He will fly in tonight to Malpensa airport at 21.30,” Inter director Gabriele Oriali told Italia 1 on Sunday evening.

“Tomorrow he’ll undergo his medical, then talk to Roberto Mancini and sign the contract.”

Maniche will originally sign on a loan deal until the end of the season, which will then turn into a permanent transfer costing £4m. The 30-year-old will earn wages of around £2m a year.

Inter boss Roberto Mancini is pleased with the imminent arrival of Maniche and believes he will be an excellent addition to the squad.

"Maniche is an excellent player and with Samuel and Dacourt out injured it was important to have another player available, a player who can also play in the Champions League,” Mancio said after this afternoon’s 3-2 Serie A win at Siena.
