The 31 year-old is a currently a free agent after spending 2007 with Suwon Samsung Bluewings. The K-League club want him to sign a new contract but Ahn has yet to commit.
Former club Busan I’Park were interested in the 2002 and 2006 World Cup Star but according to reports in Korea, were scared off by the player’s salary demands.
“We had a positive attitude with regard to signing Ahn but his salary would have created an inbalance in the team,” a source close to Busan told OSEN.
Last month, Chinese Super League club Changsa Ginde tried to secure Ahn’s services for the new season but were rejected.
