Hinkel Eyes International Return

The 25 year old fullback completed his move from Sevilla to the Glasgow giants last week and was officially unveiled today.

He revealed that he his looking forward to extending the Bhoys run in this season's Champions League, while also looking to get his international career back on track.

Hinkel has 17 caps for Germany, but last appeared for them against Slovakia in 2005.

"Celtic is the perfect club for me" the player told reporters. "Celtic's recent Champions League record is part of the decision to sign for Celtic rather than Borussia Dortmund.

"But the main reason for my decision is that I want to be part of the national team again and if I play well then I will automatically be part of it" he revealed.

"I didn't speak to former players but I know that there were several German players who have played in Scotland. But I asked other people if it would be the right decision to come here.

"They told me that the Scots are open-minded, friendly and that it would be a good decision to come. The whole world knows this club and its traditional colours of green and white.

"They were the first British club to win The Champions League, so I know the club's history and its importance" he concluded.

Celtic face Spanish giants Barcelona in the next stage of this season's Champions League.
