Cambiasso: We Are Not Thinking About Liverpool

The Nerazzurri were drawn with the Premiership giants in arguably the tie of the round, along with AC Milan’s match against Arsenal.

“We aren’t thinking about Liverpool at all,” Cambiasso stated.

“There are still 50 days until that game and our first priority is to work every day and take each match as it comes.

“We want to work hard here in Dubai to get ready for the game against Siena – our first official game in January.”

After three days of training Inter will take part in the Dubai Cup, and their first match is against Ajax Amsterdam.

“Here we have the perfect environment to get on with our important task and we are putting some fuel in the tank that will help us when it comes to the end of the season,” Cambiasso continued.

“Now we have two big international friendlies and we want to pick up where we left off before Christmas. We will think about Liverpool when the time comes.”

Inter and Liverpool have only met once before competitively in a classic European Cup semi-final from 1964/65.

Bill Shankly’s men thought they had one foot in the final after beating the Nerazzurri 3-1 in the first leg at Anfield.

However Inter won 3-0 in the return leg at San Siro, and the Beneamata would go on to defeat Benfica in the final.
