Boruc: Title Is Top Priority

Poland international goalkeeper Artur Boruc generated some heat late last year after claiming he wanted to leave Celtic.

After helping Celtic to qualify for the last-16 of the Champions League, Boruc opted for knee surgery. As he worked back to fitness, he kicked up a fuss when he publicly revealed his intention to abandon the Hoops.

Milan, Arsenal and Spurs were reportedly waiting to swoop for the 27-year-old, but a recent contract extension looked to have allayed fears of his departure at the club.

However, nothing is simple with the flamboyant Pole, who gave the inside scoop on his new contract to the Polish media.

"If somebody will pay about £10million, I can depart. Both parties are satisfied," Boruc told Gazeta Wyborcza.

"Besides, I had proposals from other clubs in the newspapers only. I did not have concrete offers."

Domestic Glory

However, Celtic’s plight still appears to interest Boruc. With a Champions League clash against Barcelona in February and the closest SPL title race in years developing, Boruc spoke of his priorities.

"The Champions League campaign is unbelievable and it's incredible for me to be involved in that again with this club,” the keeper told Celtic View.

"We have tried to improve with every year and will do the same next season, but to get to this level again is a great achievement.

"But I want us to be the champions in Scotland again, that has to be the main aim for us this season."

"I really see a bright future at this club."
