Ancelotti: We Can Retain The Champions League

The Rossoneri won Europe’s premier club competition last season after defeating Liverpool 2-1 in the final in Athens.

Following their domestic struggles, which has seen them drop to 12th position in Serie A, many believe it is unlikely that they will succeed again this time around.

However Ancelotti disagrees and speaking from Milan’s mid-season training camp in Dubai, he revealed his high hopes.

“I have had important responses from players who haven’t had a lot of playing time,” Carletto stated.

“This is clearly a crucial period for these lads as the fixture pile-up will give them opportunities.

“As I have already said in the days gone by, the last 16 game against Arsenal will be extremely difficult, but getting to the Final in Moscow isn’t an unrealistic dream.

“We are the reigning European champions and the chance to retain the Champions League is a great stimulus.”

Milan face Napoli this weekend at San Siro in their first official match of 2008.
