Fulham Eye Liverpool Youngster Guthrie

The 20 year old midfielder is apparently high on the wish-list of the new Fulham boss and he is ready to make an offer for the former Liverpool acadamy player.

Guthrie is currently on a season-long loan at Bolton after seeing his first-team opportunities limited at Anfield, but Fulham are looking to snatch him before Bolton make the move permanent.

The player has also had loan spells at Southampton, while Championship leaders Watford are also reportedly tracking his availability.

However, Guthrie is highly rated by Rafa Benitez so it is unclear whether Liverpool will be willing to let their future star leave.

"We have had our scouts watching him and we are really pleased because he is playing well" Benitez said.

"We have a lot of confidence in Guthrie.

"He needed to play games and we thought Bolton was the right club for him because Sammy Lee and Frank McParland were there at the start of the season.

"Although they have now left the club he is in the Bolton team, and is showing the quality that we thought he had" Rafa added.
