Faubert Makes Scoring Hammers Return

The 24-year-old joined West Ham from Bordeaux for £6.1m during the summer transfer window on a five-year contract after an impressive spell at Bordeaux where he played as both a midfielder and a right-back.

Naturally, both the player and his manager are delighted with his return.

"It's great to be back with my team-mates...it was a shame to pick up the injury so soon into my West Ham career," Faubert sighed.

And just as his did in his one international appearance for France, it didn't take the feisty and fiery hard man too long to make an impact.

He scored after just 60 seconds in a reserve game against Aston Villa, and showed the sort of pace and power that Alan Curbishley has been missing for most of the season.

"It's great to see him out there running," observed the coach.

Curbishley has also acknowledged that he expects Luis Boa Morte to return to first team action next week.
