Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli was very satisfied following the 2-1 victory away to Parma, which allowed his team to remain in contention for a Champions League spot. Also, the team definitely recovered after a poor run of results thanks to this victory, after already beating Cagliari 5-1 just before the Christmas break.
Asked whether he thought the team has gotten over the negative period, Prandelli said: "Yes, for sure. I have the luck to be training a group of players with great technical and human qualities. During that bad period we were lacking a bit in those qualities. But the team always made me feel like an important reference point for them."
On the match itself, he said: "It was a nice match, both teams tried to win. The match always remained balanced, perhaps the draw would have been more deserved. [Christian] Vieri is doing well and he gave us a bit more weight and experience up front.
"We were controlling the match when we had ball possession. I thought it would be a good idea to modify the midfield by inserting [Martin] Jorgensen and [Massimo] Gobbi."
Concerning the transfer market, he said: "I've already talked about it yesterday, even though as a coach I should only talk about played football. The transfer strategies are up to the managers and they are doing well. There are choices and decisions to be made.
"There is still a big difference between us and the big four, and we can't give our fans illusions. We want to continue on this road and help our lads grow."
