UEFA Champions League contenders Olympique Lyonnais have signed Argentina winger César Delgado for €7.25m from CD Cruz Azul and Marco Crosas, on loan from FC Barcelona.
'A challenge'
Delgado, who has won 20 caps for his country scoring two goals, has joined on a three-and-a-half year contract. "Lyon are a team which has won many trophies," said the 26-year-old who won an Olympic gold medal with Argentina in 2004. "It's a challenge I wanted to take on," added the player known as 'Chelito' who scored 54 goals in 129 games at Mexican side Cruz Azul.
Loan signing
The 19-year-old Crosas has joined the French champions on loan until the end of the season but, having appeared in Barcelona's game against VfB Stuttgart on 12 December, the Spaniard will be ineligible for any of Lyon’s UEFA Champions League campaign including the first knockout round, first leg against Manchester United FC on 20 February.
