Capello Makes Another Date With Rooney

Fabio Capello took in his first live match as manager of England on Saturday as he watched Manchester United earn a 2-0 win at Aston Villa in the FA Cup.

Wayne Rooney was the key figure in the game, coming off the bench to wrap up the victory for Sir Alex Ferguson's side, and the Italian manager admitted afterwards that he was "mightily impressed" with the striker's contribution.

So much so that he intends to have another look at Rooney in action as soon as possible - and hopefully this time for a full 90 minutes.

Capello will meet with FA officials at Soho Square today but is understood to favour United's home clash with Newcastle next weekend.
