Bolton To Launch €7m Saviola Bid To Replace Anelka?

Javier Saviola (pictured) has denied that he's seeking a way out of the Bernabeu, but the Real Madrid misfit is still in the sights of Bolton Wanderers, according to Spanish sports daily Marca.

The English club could be on the verge of losing Nicolas Anelka to Chelsea after the former Arsenal man started the season in some style: should this occur, then they'll have a vacancy up front.

And while rumours of a loan move for Saviola were earlier quashed, a permanent transfer could potentially please both the player and his club, who signed him on a free transfer from Barcelona this summer.

Bolton boss Gary Megson has apparently convinced club owner Phil Gartside to splash out around 7 million euros for the Argentine, should the transfer merry-go-round be set in motion.

While the manager wanted to sign Saviola regardless of the situation, Gartside is reluctant to do so as long as Anelka is at the club. However, with El-Hadji Diouf leaving for the African Cup of Nations, it's easy to see why Megson wants a new forward.

Marseille have also expressed an interest in the forward who, despite declaring himself happy in Spain's capital, is the fourth-least used player in Madrid coach Bernd Schuster's squad
